Watch: Six Flags Mexico rider stranded during storm in the air, caught in heavy rain

Some passengers were stranded and dangling in the air at an amusement park in Mexico during a storm.

The ordeal occurred on August 18 at the Six Flags Mexico amusement park.

Passenger Omar Hernández Medrano filmed a video showing his view from the Sky Screamer ride, also known as Supergirl Sky Flight, when it stalled, leaving him and the other passengers exposed to wind and rain.

“We were driving up on Supergirl and during the ride it started to rain and quickly got worse. When we were way up there, while the rain and the ride was going, it stopped and we were stuck at the top in the pouring rain for ten minutes,” Hernández told Storyful.

According to the park’s website, the ride takes passengers 243 feet above the ground.

Park officials said the storm shut down several rides, but evacuation protocols were followed, according to a statement.

“Unfortunately, the storm intensified during the evacuation, causing some unpleasant moments for our visitors. Park staff cared for all visitors and no incidents were reported. Sky Screamer resumed normal operations shortly thereafter,” said Six Flags Mexico.
