“I lived in one of the original singlewides while our house was being built.
There was a decent blanket of snow and it was about 3°C at night. Every sound was loud!
The neighbor’s dog was an outside dog in a heated house. He barked all the time!
I didn’t know that!
If a dog barks for 5 minutes or more, you can make a report. If you turn in the report, a judge can charge you $50 per incident.
I did 20 to 30 logs a day, lasting anywhere from 5 minutes to a couple of hours. I wasn’t even home all day!
She was super poor and I didn’t want to go down that path.
After three weeks of not sleeping, my husband and I started arguing A LOT and I was unable to get anything done due to the lack of sleep.
I dreamed of attacking the dog and putting an electric collar on him.
She was ready to face the issue head-on.
I ended up putting on a sweater EVERY time the dog barked at night, crunching, crunching, crunching to her house and banging on the door until she answered.
She: WHAT?!
Me: Your dog is barking.
She: Oh, I didn’t hear him.
Me: …. (turn around and leave)
The third time she opened her door.
Me: Your dog is barking.
She: why do you keep doing that?!
Me: It’s not my dog. It’s yours. If I’m awake because he’s barking, you are too. I haven’t slept in over 3 weeks. This is how neighbors get murdered.
It took her four nights to get through the process and do something for her dog.
A few times I had to bang on the door for minutes with ice-cold breath, but it was worth it!

Give the dog a muzzle!
Or an electric shock collar.
