In the horror film world, the slasher subgenre is far less prominent than it was decades ago. An old hand slept in crystal-clear lakes, but the nightmare has left Elm Street and awakened in a different form. The Terrorbringer The series is the newest slasher franchise on the market and the third film is set to make a splash during the Christmas season.
Terrifier 3 is the next installment in the series that has seen huge success due to its gruesome, bloody violence. This new film is set at Christmas and is actually the fourth installment in the series if you count a certain other film. Of course, this may not be the end for Art the Clown and his terrifying antics, especially if this film is as successful as the previous ones.

Despite the name, the Terrorbringer The series theoretically began in 2013 All Saints Day. This film was directed by Damien Leone and was an anthology of short films (one of which was titled Terrorbringer), all of which involved the series’ dark antagonist, Art the Clown. The character’s design and presence were reminiscent of a mute version of Pennywise the Clown from It. However, the real story began in the first cinema performance Terrorbringer feature-length film released in 2016.
In this film, Art the clown terrorizes two sisters – Victoria and Tara – on Halloween night. After their encounter with the evil villain, a brutal chase ensues. The film ended with Victoria brutally scarred by his actions and Art dead, but that didn’t stop him from being reborn in the 2022 sequel. Terrifier 2. Art the Clown was resurrected by Little Pale Girl and once again wreaked havoc in Miles County, New York. This time his nemesis was a young lady named Sienna Shaw.
The design and presence of the figure were reminiscent of a silent version of the clown Pennywise from “It”.
It turns out that Shaw is meant to be the true “final girl” of the series and ultimately defeats Art, though his malice is not kept at bay for long. Victoria from the first film is revealed to be alive and gives birth to a new body (or rather, a living head) for Art. This is currently where the film series left off, but the new entry is set to finally continue things with a very different holiday. The Terrorbringer Films were very successful, especially the second film.
The original film was made on a budget of between $35,000 and $55,000 and ultimately grossed over $400,000 at the box office. Terrifier 2 became an even bigger success, even after the budget was raised to $250,000. Grossing just over $15 million, the film was a testament to the kind of independent success that was once common among slasher horror film franchises. Now, that’s likely to happen again, with Art the Clown making sure the “Slay” bells ring.

The plot in the 3rd main part Terrorbringer In the film, the clown Art appears again as an antagonist, and another face can also be seen in the film. As seen on the movie poster, Victoria Heyes is back from the first film, her face still brutally destroyed after her first encounter with Art. Most likely, the film will also build on the child she had, or rather the Art head she gave birth to. In fact, the Art shown in the film is most likely a full-grown version of this dark, demonic offspring. Terrifier 3This time, however, the plot of will not revolve around Halloween, but rather Christmas. All that is really known about the premise so far is that Art will terrorize Miles County like never before while its citizens “sleep on Christmas Eve.”
The last part of the plot is reminiscent of the premise of Nightmare on Elm Street Movies. These movies are more emotional and somewhat “high-concept” in nature, as teenagers and other residents of Springwood go to bed and are terrorized in their nightmares by a vicious dream demon named Freddy Krueger. While Art the Clown himself appears to be supernatural in nature, the extent of his powers is unknown. Therefore, in the new film, he may venture even further into this world and gain a level of power not previously achieved, which could be tied to his “rebirth” by Victoria.
While Art the Clown himself appears to be supernatural in nature, the extent of his powers is unknown.
The presence of this former “Final Girl” is intentional, as is her continued role throughout the franchise.. Director and series creator Damien Leone regretted that he did not develop Victoria much in the first episode. Terrorbringer film. This was mainly because her role was something of a surprise, as it seemed that her sister Tara would be the true protagonist of the film. Her return and seemingly sharing the spotlight with Art is therefore a way to provide more insight into her character.
Victoria’s role in the second film was in a mid-credits scene where she gave birth to Art’s head. In that scene, she also scrawled the words “Vicky + Art” in blood, which (along with the new film’s poster) suggests that she and the villain will now both be evil slasher characters. If that’s the case, it’s possible that she was “infected” with elements of his evil essence by Art’s mistreatment at the end of the first film.

The cast of Terrible 3 is full of new and returning faces and represents the culmination of the storylines of the first two films. The main character is Lauren LaVera, who once again plays Sienna Shaw. Likewise, Elliot Fullam is back as her younger brother Jonathan, who was put in danger by Art in the second film. David Howard Thornton and Samantha Scaffidi are back as Art the Clown and Victoria Heyes, and the film poster puts them front and center. This comes after a reworking of the story, with Victoria originally going to be killed in a way that the director felt was too similar to the film Malignant by horror icon James Wan. There are several other big names who, while not associated with the franchise, are celebrities in their own right.
Legendary wrestler Chris Jericho plays a male nurse named Burke, while Daniel Roebuck – known for various films and roles, including those related to horror films in the iconic Halloween franchise – plays Santa Claus himself. Other big names include Jon Abrahams, Tom Savini, Clint Howard, Annie Lederman and 1980s star Jason Patric, perhaps best known for his role in the classic film The Lost Boys. The film also stars Kristy Fox, Sienna Hubert-Ross and Antonella Rose as Gabbie. The screenplay and direction are again by Damien Leone, and the producers are Phil Falcone, George Steuber, Steve Della Salla, Jason Leavy and Michael Leav.
Production news on Terrifier 3 and possible sequels
Terrifier 3 could be split into two films, leading to a fourth sequel
A third Terrorbringer The film was already planned before the release of the second part, and this and other sequels were already being discussed in 2019. In 2022, the release of the second film revealed that preparations for the upcoming sequel were so extensive that it could potentially be split into a fourth film as well. A filming schedule was announced in May 2023, and although filming was supposed to begin in November and December of that year, it did not. Instead, principal photography took place between February and April 2024, with additional scenes being shot until mid-June.
Entertainment company Cineverse has acquired distribution rights in 2023 and the theatrical release will be accompanied by an exclusive streaming release on the company’s Screambox platform. The film was originally scheduled to be released on October 25, 2024, but has now been brought forward by two weeks and will be released on October 11, 2024.. However, the official premiere will take place in less than a month at Fantastic Fest 2024, which will take place on September 19, 2024.
The film’s first trailer was finally released over the summer, offering fans their first look at Art’s bloody return. The film’s budget is much bigger this time, at $2 million. However, this is still microscopic compared to many other films, and as long as the film is as brutal as the first two films, Terrifier 3 will surely be a huge success.
Terrifier 3 is scheduled to hit theaters on October 11, 2024.
