GURGAON: Around 24,000 Candidates appears for a Written exam for general use Police officers In Haryana Police on Sunday. The test will be conducted in 84 centers.
On Saturday, the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) Chairman Himmat Singh held a meeting regarding preparations for the test.
Commission Secretary Vinay Kumar will oversee all preparations for the written examination while Special Commissioner Sudhanshu will inspect the examination process, Singh said.
A total of 24,003 candidates will appear in the exam, including 19,822 males and 4,181 females. The exam centres for male candidates are located at Kurukshetra and Karnal, while the centre for female candidates is located at Panchkula.
Explaining the tight security measures in and around the examination centres, HSSC chairman Singh on Sunday said candidates would be screened at the entrance and would be allowed entry only after biometric verification. The entire process would be filmed and monitored through CCTV cameras from a control room in Panchkula.
“The aim of the commission is to conduct a cheating-free examination with absolutely safe arrangements. Strict legal action will be taken against any candidate found using unfair means during the examination,” Singh said.
Candidates will not be allowed to carry mobile phones, electronic devices, hidden cameras or any other equipment into the examination hall. Female candidates should also not wear earrings, nose studs or any other jewellery, he added.
The written test will be bilingual, with questions in both Hindi and English, and will carry a significant weightage of 94.5% in the overall selection process.
“The test will be conducted offline using an OMR-based system. The knowledge test will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions with objective answers where there will be no penalty for wrong answers,” said an official.
To be eligible for selection, candidates must score at least 50% marks in the general category, while applicants in the reserved categories must score at least 40%.
The HSSC on Thursday released the Physical Screening Test (PST) results for the Haryana Police Constable Recruitment 2024, as part of the recruitment process for 6,000 constables (general duty), including 5,000 males and 1,000 females. The recruitment process began with the official notification on June 28, followed by the online application period from June 29 to July 11. The Physical Measurement Test (PMT) was conducted between July 23 and 27.
