Meek Mill advises his fans to stop “talking about the dead”

Meek Mill wants people to stop talking about the dead, and explained his views on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday night. “When you talk about your own dead ancestors, you curse your own soul!” he wrote. “Stop talking about the dead… I have yet to see that work!!!! This is spiritual fashion!” The sentiment is met with mixed reactions from fans on social media.

“I need to check you real quick. Respect the ancestors. You shouldn’t speak either if you believe it’s wrong to talk about the ancestors. I honor my ancestors everyday and talk about mine frequently,” one follower replied. Another added, “But they have my back!! When I pray to them. Nothing wrong with that!!” Others claimed he was referring to late Philadelphia rapper YBC Dul. One wrote, “MEEK MILL SHUT UP YOU NEVER TALKED ABOUT DUL SO DON’T SAY SHIT NOW.” Dul was shot and killed earlier in the day at just 25 years old.

This isn’t the first time this month that Meek has made headlines with his posts on X. Last week, he garnered attention when he shared his opinion on Vice President Kamala Harris, who continues to campaign for the upcoming election. “I want to ask Kamala Harris questions about her past as a District Attorney, even if she had to be tough about it,” he posted. “All I hear are rumors about her… I would ask her three questions about black and brown men going to prison and her views and try to help her understand this from a survivor perspective that she may never have had to experience!”
