If animal rescuers like Whitney ruled the world, there would be no pets waiting in shelters. Every dog, cat, and small animal would have a loving home and there would be no shortage of resources for pet owners who need them. Unfortunately, this is just a dream, but loyal animal rescuers like Whitney will never stop saving as many pets as possible!
In fact, this TikToker turned rescuer is the founder of Hearts and Bones Rescue, a nonprofit foster organization based in Texas and New York. On August 20, she helped two sweet siblings escape from the shelter and get a second chance, and they can’t stop thanking her. They just want to cuddle nonstop!
OMG! Their cuddly nature and love for people was immediately apparent when Whitney met them, so it’s almost hard to believe they were found as stray dogs. Anything could have happened before they became strays, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they experienced the love of a human at some point. Plus, the most important thing is that they will know nothing but love from now on!

“As the proud owner of two sisters rescued by Dallas Animal Services, this brought me to tears,” confessed commenter @callmeclare_. Ohh – I know what you mean! Dog owners often get emotional when they hear adoption stories, especially ones that share similarities to their pup’s adoption. That’s normal! But even if you’ve never fostered sibling dogs before, it can be emotional to see their relief at being rescued together.
As you might imagine, finding homes for two rescued dogs can be significantly more difficult than finding homes for just one. Few adopters are willing, able, and ready to take two rescued dogs home, but a little education and access to resources (like free veterinary care and affordable dog food) can encourage rescuers to take their chances.
Two are better than one
Many who adopt a pair of dogs find that having a built-in best friend makes the process a little easier for everyone. Both new dogs will be reassured by the presence of their sibling or friend, and you’ll sleep well at night knowing your new friends are never alone.
Yes, feeding, walking, and entertaining two dogs can get expensive, but once you’ve established a routine after a few weeks at home, your new schedule will feel as natural as ever. Many canine siblings can walk together on a leash, go potty together, and even eat at the same time, so double the love doesn’t always mean double the work.
