Osakis hosts back-to-school open house – Alexandria Echo Press

OSAKIS – Osakis Public Schools will host an open house/community connection night on Wednesday, August 28, to prepare students for the upcoming first day of the new school year.

This is the first year that Open House will be paired with another event. Through this pairing, we hope to introduce students’ families to local resources, extracurricular activities, and faith-based programs, thereby fostering student bonding and well-being.

The open day to mark the start of school will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Free dinner (pulled pork sandwiches, fries and ice cream)

3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. – Time to connect with teachers and office staff about back-to-school needs

3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. – Resource Fair: Community organizations and services will have information booths. There will be children’s games, bouncy castles, a plunge pool and snow cone machines.

5:45 to 6:30 p.m. – Ben Rudrud, motivational speaker, speaks to students, families and community members (awards ceremony)

6:30pm to 7:00pm – Time to connect with teachers and office staff about back-to-school needs

Our newsroom occasionally reports under the name “Staff.” The “Staff” name is often used when rewriting basic news briefs from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure that requires little or no reporting. Sometimes this name is used when a story has multiple authors or when the story consists of compiling previously reported news from various sources. When outside sources are used, this is noted in the story.
