WATERVILLE – The Central Maine ATV Club hosted its ATV Glow Ride on August 17 with about 300 machines and more than 1,000 participants.

The event began at the Best Western. The parade of brightly lit off-road vehicles traveled down Waterville’s Main Street, up Front Street, College Avenue and finally over to North Street. From there, the riders continued their journey through the Fairfield trail system toward Norridgewock before rejoining the scenic Kennebec Valley Rail Trail in Fairfield and parts of Oakland. The ride ended back in Waterville.

The Central Maine ATV Club partnered with the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce to organize and promote the Glow Ride. In addition, a marketing grant was secured from the Kennebec Valley Tourism Council, which helped attract riders from across Maine and a number of New England states, according to a press release from Mike Guarino of the Mid-Maine Chamber.

Proceeds from the event were split between the club and the Fairfield Food Pantry, supporting their mission to provide essential services to local families in need.
