Packers emails reveal facts we didn’t know we needed

GREEN BAY – I get emails. Lots of emails. Some of them try to tell us things about ourselves that we don’t know and that we can hardly believe.

For example, according to a study on which a report was based, between 5% and 12.5% of residents in three neighborhoods surrounding Lambeau Field speak primarily Polish at home. “Jestem zaskoczona” (I’m surprised).

Because of my job description, I’m most interested in those related to the Green Bay Packers, so here’s the latest information. It covers the popularity of the Packers, Packers fans’ complaints about tailgating parties of all things, and conversely, that Packers fans are, overall, a happy bunch. Among other things.

Many of these reports come from online betting and gambling sites that make a living by crunching numbers but are also looking for some attention. So be it.

If you are reading this online, I have provided links to available reports if you would like to dig deeper.

Report: Lambeau Field is the fourth safest NFL stadium

If you’ve ever been to an event at Lambeau Field, you probably don’t think about crime. Any kind of crime. But according to iGamingNuts, it’s only the fourth safest stadium in the NFL.

According to IGamingNuts, the zip code where Lambeau is located has 21.81 reported crimes per 1,000 residents per year, putting it behind Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, with 9.36 per 1,000 residents, Highmark Stadium in Buffalo, with 13.45, and MetLife in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with 16.38.

The research underlying these conclusions comes from an organization called NeighborhoodScout, which collects crime and other data by zip code. NeighborhoodScout is also the source of the above data on Polish speakers around Lambeau Field.

It is worth noting, however, that a report by Sportsbook Review ranked Gillette and Highmark Stadiums among the top five stadiums where fans feel least safe, and MetLife Stadium ranks second on the list of places where fans report being victims of crime.

I guess Lambeau Field, with all its Polish-speaking neighbors, is the safest place in the NFL. Even for Bears fans. But we knew that.

Soldier Field is more popular on Instagram than Lambeau Field?

Here’s something the Bears finally beat the Packers with: Soldier Field in Chicago gets more Instagram hashtags than Lambeau Field. That’s not entirely true, but that’s what the report says.

Research by BonusFinder.com examined the 30 NFL stadiums and their total number of hashtags on Instagram (sum of the three most used hashtags) to find out which ones are most popular on social media. Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers, ranked first in searches for hashtags #lewis stadium, #levistadium And #49ersstadiumMetLife and Gillette Stadiums took second and third place. Soldier Field was fourth and Lambeau Field fifth with hashtags #lambeaufield, #lambeaufield And #lambaufield.

Because you really want to know: M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore came in last place.

Packers are the fifth most searched team in other countries

According to FlashPicks, the Packers are the fifth most searched NFL team in the world outside of the U.S. Why does this remind me of obscure facts from sports commentators like “he leads the league in most touchdown passes by a quarterback starting the fourth quarter trailing by 21 points on the road in throwback jerseys”?

The report shows that the Dallas Cowboys are the No. 1 “non-America team” with 440,410 searches per month. The Packers have 284,190 searches. In between are the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins.

Based on the percentage of citizens searching for Green Bay Packers, Burkina Faso is number 1. If you plan on heading there to meet other Packers fans, keep in mind that Burkina Faso is also high on the U.S. State Department’s list of places not to visit. The evidence, such as it is, suggests that Lambeau Field is safer.

The least searched team worldwide (outside the US and possibly in Indiana) is the Indianapolis Colts with 39,780 searches per month. The Packers play their first home game against the Colts on September 15th at noon at Lambeau Field.

Maybe Packers fans simply have higher expectations of tailgating

A study by sports betting website OLBG.com shows that Green Bay Packers fans are the most annoying fans when it comes to tailgating complaints. This highly unscientific study found that an analysis of online conversations revealed that the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals are the leaders in positive and joyful tailgating foodies online.

OLBG.com analyzed social listening data on 26 key terms related to tailgating and food at each NFL stadium online to determine which fan bases are the pickiest and least picky about tailgating. The data was sorted from least to most picky to indicate who was having more positive and cheerful conversations about food and tailgating online.

The Packers were last. Last of all. Last so far, they couldn’t see the second to last. Packers fans got 2 out of 100 possible points. The fans of the Seattle Seahawks, who were just ahead of the Packers fans with 24.3 points, were just grumpy in comparison.

The Dallas fans received 70.5 out of 100 possible points.

But the Packers fans are otherwise really happy

Three reports suggest that Packers fans are happy, or even happier, or, heck, really happy.

The Sports Geek used a social listening tool that essentially counted the most positive tweets to determine that Packers fans were the eighth happiest group in the NFL during the offseason, ahead of fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans.

On the other hand, casino.org used a nationwide survey and a weighted index that assessed factors such as Super Bowl optimism, satisfaction with management, mood swings when players get injured, anger when their team loses, and more to decide that Packers fans are the sixth happiest fans in the league. Ranked ahead of the Packers were the Kansas City Chiefs, 49ers, Ravens, Eagles, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carolina Panthers fans were, as you can imagine, the unhappiest.

And Sportsbook Review used AI facial recognition technology to determine NFL fans’ emotions from 20,000 fan selfies. The result was that 59% of Packers fans’ selfies showed joy, putting them in second place behind the Washington Commanders, whose on-field performance hardly compares to the Packers’. However, considering former owner Dan Snyder is no longer around to torment them, you can understand the smiles.

For Packers fans, Lambeau Field is considered in some circles to be the best stadium in professional sports. It is not the facilities that Are OK, metal benches or not, but the fans. It was about 27 degrees and humid when Family Night started on Saturday, and it was the happiest place on earth at that moment.

I’m not surprised.
