Okay, I’m originally from Wisconsin, so I can’t verbally attack these nasty people from other states because, you know, I’m one of them.

Excuse me.

On the Montana subreddit, someone asked, “What are some signs that someone is new to Montana?” Do people who are new to Montana have a certain aura? According to the internet, they do.

Here are some of the best answers:

  • “Wear a down coat and a beanie hat when it’s sunny and 10 degrees Celsius. That’s t-shirt weather!” – EmbarrassedBunch3434
  • “You don’t have a snow shovel yet.” – DrunkenBlacksmith
  • “Pay attention to how you say ‘bag.'” – tugboatnavy
    • Okay, seriously, I do this all the time because I have a Midwestern accent.
  • “You can afford to buy a house.” -Montanonymous
  • “You don’t know how to pronounce Choteau or Havre.” -04BluSti
    • To be honest, I mispronounced Choteau the first year I lived here.
  • “You actually know how to use a roundabout” – clever_reddit_name69
  • “What are the winters like here?” – BoozeTheCat
  • “They are complaining on Reddit about the guy they met in the woods who had a visible gun on his hip.” – laidback_01
