Drew McIntyre believes some in the WWE Universe now realize he is telling the truth about CM Punk

Drew McIntyre believes many in the WWE Universe are slowly realizing that he told the truth about CM Punk.

WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre recently met with Notsam Wrestling. When asked about his ongoing rivalry with CM Punk, McIntyre revealed that some fans who met both him and Punk at Fanatics Fanfest told him he was not a nice person.

“I heard from him yesterday,” Drew McIntyre began. “And basically every single person that came to get my autograph, they got his autograph. My picture, they got his picture. (And they said), ‘Well, man, he’s really not a nice person.’ Honestly, I swear to God. It’s almost like I was telling the truth the whole damn time.

“It takes a little longer to get through to those at the back of the line, but eventually the truth comes out. I know the nostalgia is strong. He was gone for so long, the legend grew and the name was chanted. But the truth is, he’s no longer a professional wrestler. He’s an attraction. He gets attention and unfortunately he’s faced the most dangerous on the mic and in the ring and I’m going to expose him.”

Drew McIntyre defeated CM Punk at SummerSlam

When asked about their match at SummerSlam, McIntyre talked about the match and how it felt to defeat the self-proclaimed best in the world.

“He said his biggest asset was his heart. That’s true,” Drew McIntyre said. “And it’s not necessarily his heart. He’s one of the most stubborn motherfuckers on planet Earth. He’s so stubborn. He just doesn’t give up. He keeps going. And I was surprised when I took that first punch, how much I felt it, I was surprised when he kept hitting, and most of all I was surprised by his endurance. So in that respect he caught me off guard.

“Honestly, I’ve been in the ring with the best of the best for the last 10 years, he’s still right up there, even though I rightly make fun of him because he can still do something in the ring. But most of all, he just refuses to give up, which is like Christmas for me because I know full well that he won’t stop until his heart does. And I have no problem making that happen.

“Then at Summer Slam, people were like, ‘Oh, but Drew, you kicked him low.’ I was like, ‘Remember what happened in Scotland, how he cost me the match? It’s almost like everything that happened to him is totally deserved. Find me an example where I lied, where I was a hypocrite. You won’t find it. He literally lied last week and said Drew called me a hypocrite. Like, ‘Oh, shit, you’re a liar. You’re a hypocrite. You said you weren’t there. You attacked me from behind. I never lied. I’m just telling the truth. God, it felt good to beat CM Punk.'”
