SHREVEPORT, LA – A new restaurant will soon be opening in the Shreve City neighborhood of Shreveport. People were wondering why Wendy’s would build a new store just a block away from an existing location in the mall. We also wondered what would happen to the old location.
What is planned for the site of the old Wendy’s?
A sign has been put up at the old Wendy’s location advertising a new store that will be opening soon. The sign reads “Peking Chinese Food.” I saw a few crews doing a bit of cleanup and I assume the remodeling will take place before the doors can open for business.
This appears to be the same logo used by the quite successful Peking Chinese Restaurant in Nacogdoches, Texas.

The restaurant opened in 1993. The owners say they are “committed to providing the highest quality, healthiest Chinese food in town.” The website states, “Every dish is prepared with the freshest, highest quality ingredients.”
Beijing says customers can request the use of 100% pure olive oil instead of vegetable oil for free.
Peking is prepared to receive guests in the restaurant or you can order and pick up the food at the drive-thru. They promise great food and fast service.
The company has a building permit and is scheduled to open once the renovation work and staffing have been completed.
Beijing offers many of the standard dishes you would find in a Chinese restaurant:
Beef with orange peel
Kung Pao Chicken
Fried rice according to home recipe
Shrimp noodle soup
Pot stickers
General Sao’s Chicken
Spring rolls
Steamed dumplings and much more.
It is not yet known when the doors will open in Beijing. The owners are currently trying to hire staff and prepare the building for reopening.
