Resolve launches app portal to connect 3D and 2D construction data

improves VR assessments in construction

NEW YORK, NY, August 22, 2024 – Resolve announced the launch of a new feature that brings construction project data into virtual reality and improves the review of buildings before they are built. Resolve’s App Portal allows design and construction professionals to access popular construction applications directly within Resolve’s immersive VR application for Meta Quest.

This new feature allows users to seamlessly access and interact with 2D drawings, dashboards, and issue databases while reviewing 3D models in an immersive virtual environment. The app portal enables construction teams to identify and resolve potential issues more effectively by providing instant access to critical information from 2D data sources without having to remove their VR headsets.

The app portal launches with four key integrations: Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Autodesk BIM 360, Procore and Newforma Konekt. This ensures that users can easily access and leverage their existing project data within the Resolve platform.

Main features and benefits:

  • Seamless integration: Access your project data hosted in Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, and Newforma Konekt directly from VR, so you always have the information you need when you need it.
  • Increased efficiency: You no longer have to switch between VR and your 2D monitor. This optimizes the workflow and saves valuable time.
  • Improved collaboration: Share and pin 2D screenshots in the virtual model for team members to use as reference.

“At Resolve, we are committed to providing innovative solutions that improve the construction process, and we also believe that 2D data still holds an important place in the industry. With this new feature, our users can fully leverage all of their project data, leading to better decisions and greater project efficiency,” said Angel Say, CEO of Resolve.

Resolve is the leading provider of immersive VR software for the construction industry. Over $30 billion worth of construction projects around the world have used Resolve to view the project before construction begins. Resolve’s proprietary Wellington Engine renders huge BIM files seamlessly on wireless VR headsets and web browsers.
