Prime Video is launching a British version of the internationally successful format. The last one laughsmoderated by Jimmy Carr.
In the show, scheduled for 2025, Jimmy Carr challenges 10 of Britain’s funniest comedians to spend the day together without smiling. Over the course of the series, they’ll use every ounce of their comedic talent to try and break their opponents without bursting into laughter themselves. And it’s not just their rivals that they’ll have to watch out for. The show is packed with comedy cameos, format twists and surprises designed to elicit smiles from the players and hearty laughs from the viewers. The rules are simple: if you laugh, you’re out.
Last One Laughing UK is the latest adaptation of the successful Amazon Original series from Japan entitled documentarycreated by and starring Hitoshi Matsumoto and owned by Yoshimoto Kogyo, where Matsumoto leads 10 comedians who bet their own money in a “closed-door contest of laughter” where anything is possible. The last one laughs The format became the most watched title of all time on Prime Video in France, Germany and Italy and had successful local versions in over 20 territories. Local celebrity presenters include Graham Norton (Ireland), Jay Baruchel (Canada), Eugenio Derbez (Mexico), Fedez (Italy), Michael “Bully” Herbig (Germany), Rebel Wilson (Australia) and Trevor Noah (South Africa).
