The Festival of Neighborhoods brings community spirit and family fun to Asheville on September 14

The Neighbourhood Festival is just around the corner Saturday, September 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Park.

The Neighborhood Advisory Council invites all Asheville residents to a day of neighborly interaction, learning, and fun for the whole family. This event brings neighbors from all corners of Asheville together to strengthen the bond between residents, neighborhood associations, and local organizations and create a harmonious and thriving community.

Admission to the event is free, everyone is welcome.

Discover the exciting work these groups are doing to build resilience in Asheville and learn about projects, initiatives and volunteer opportunities.

Festival fun: Compete with your friends on the inflatable obstacle course. Ride your bike through a pop-up bike park. Climb aboard a fire truck! Fuel up with hot food from a variety of vendors. Dance to the DJ’s music, play yard games with Rec & Roll, and take part in interactive entertainment throughout the day.

How can we help you? Local authorities and other services: Meet city staff from police, fire, public works, parks and recreation, transportation, city government, the county tax assessor and more! Connect with mental health and healthcare providers and local literacy programs.

Strengthening neighborhood resilience: In honor of Emergency Preparedness Month (September), the Asheville Fire Department is providing its neighbors with important information on how to prepare for emergencies.

“The Festival of Neighborhoods is a fun, free event where community members can connect, share ideas and learn together,” said Kristina Israel, communications and public relations manager for the City of Asheville. “It’s a great opportunity to learn about all the great things happening in the community and celebrate the great diversity that makes our city so special.”

About the Neighbourhood Advisory Council

The Neighborhood Advisory Council was established to advise the City Council on the needs of neighborhoods within the City of Asheville’s zoning and planning jurisdiction. The committee works to strengthen neighborhood identity and resilience by facilitating communication and collaboration between Asheville’s neighborhoods and city departments.
