Ranch Sorting Now on Ride TV

Ranch Sorting Now on Ride TV

The fast-growing and dynamic sport of Ranch Sorting is now available on Ride TV – from instructional videos to exclusive interviews to live streams of the Ranch Sorting National Championships.

What is ranch grading?

Ranch sorting is where traditional ranch work meets modern competition. It is a sport that evolved from the separation of cattle into pens for branding, treatment or transport on the ranch.

The goal is simple but challenging: the cattle must be moved and sorted from one pen to another in numerical order and against the clock, testing speed, strategy and teamwork between horse and rider.

Two riders compete in pairs, which is why this event is sometimes called “team sorting”.

New teaching series

Ride TV, a property of Equine Network LLC, has the privilege of partnering with the leader in Ranch Sorting, the Cinch Ranch Sorting National Championships (RSNC). RSNC Event Director and Producer Logan Wolfe is the son of RSNC founder Dave Wolfe. He has a new Ranch Sorting instructional series on Ride TV that has something for everyone.

One of the most attractive aspects of Ranch Sorting is undoubtedly its accessibility. Thanks to the RSNC’s 9-point scoring and handicap system, victory is within reach of anyone who can ride. It’s a sport that emphasizes the bond between horse and rider, and values teamwork and communication over pure speed or power.

Ranch Sorting is becoming increasingly popular with people of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to seasoned professionals, as a way to get into competition and celebrate the American Western lifestyle.

“I am very excited about the opportunities that Equine Network offers,” said Logan Wolfe. “The possibilities to grow this sport are endless.”

What is involved in RSNC membership?

RSNC offers riders the opportunity to participate in this elite program with a membership valid from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. In addition to being able to participate in RSNC events, members also receive access to entry fees and an annual subscription to US Rider and Ride TV and Horse&Rider magazine.
