Kamala Harris goads Trump on the Kamala HQ Truth social account

Kamala Harris goads Trump on the Kamala HQ Truth social account

Kamala Harris isn’t limited to TikTok—her social media reach even extends to former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social.

According to Kamala HQ’s X-Account, the profile is the official campaign account for the vice president’s candidacy. The TikTok And The description of the Truth Social account reads: “Provide context.”

Although the account’s page has existed since October 2023 and was officially an account of President Joe Biden, it has since been adapted to suit Harris’ campaign.

Kamala HQ currently has about 317,000 followers, but only follows a single account: Trump’s.

Kamala HQ’s posts specifically target Trump, even mocking him with captions like, “Warning: The content of this video may upset @realDonaldTrump” or “In case you forgot @realdonaldtrump, this is what a swing state rally looks like.”

Some even show the drastic difference between crowd sizes at Trump’s rallies and Harris’ rallies, which have been the subject of Trump’s constant attention. Since the opponents attended the same venues, the contrast is quite stark.

While Kamala HQ doesn’t post on the platform nearly as often as Trump, the account seems to be attracting attention – for better or for worse.

On the other hand, former President Donald Trump’s TikTok isn’t as targeted at the platform’s largest audience as Kamala HQ. While he’s ahead in terms of follower count—10.4 million at the time of writing—he lags behind in likes. His 12 TikTok videos have a combined 37.9 million likes.

In addition, it lacks the trendy music and regularity of posts that Kamala HQ displays; the vice president’s campaign account posts at least once a day, even including rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

Trump’s decision to join TikTok in June came as a surprise, as he had been vocal in his support for a ban on the app during his presidency, even going so far as to “suggest an executive order that would have banned TikTok in the United States,” NBC News reported.

Ultimately, “the order was overturned in court.”

NBC News reported that “Trump reversed course in March and opposed a ban on TikTok. He said banning TikTok would improve business for rival social media apps he had previously criticized, such as Facebook. At the same time, many Republicans remain staunchly opposed to TikTok, and Trump has said he views the app as a national security threat even after opposing a ban.”
