Things Black Myth Wukong Doesn’t Tell You – Black Myth: Wukong Guide

Before you meet the NPC who gives you the pumpkin that lets you absorb spirits, you’ll likely encounter some green wisps and maybe even side bosses that turn into spirits. Regardless of whether you have the pumpkin or not, you can collect any spirits you don’t pick up at the Guardian’s Shrines so you don’t miss out on them.

If you encountered green wisps at the beginning of Chapter 1 that only seemed to grant a small amount of willpower before floating away, return once you upgrade the gourd in the Bamboo Forest. Now they can be properly absorbed to grant much more willpower!

6. There is no punishment for dying

Thankfully, there are no penalties when you die in Black Myth: Wukong. You don’t lose any items or the Will you’ve collected, you just have to face the enemies you’ve already encountered. When you die, you’re simply transported back to the last shrine of the Guardian you interacted with and have to run the gauntlet again.

7. Not all items are what they seem to be

Be sure to take the time to collect all the items you find while exploring the regions. They are essential for crafting valuable items such as medicines as well as armor and weapons. However, not all items are what they seem!

Sometimes when you collect a mushroom or pick a flower from the ground, you will also find an enemy hanging from it, so be prepared that when collecting, you will sometimes also have to defeat an enemy that appears from the ground if you really want the item.

If you harvest one material often enough, you may randomly receive something else, like water for your pumpkin or seeds to harvest more plants!
