Inform Nigerians about Tinubu’s trip to France – Atiku’s Presidency Adviser

Inform Nigerians about Tinubu’s trip to France – Atiku’s Presidency Adviser

The spokesman for former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, on Tuesday tasked the President to inform Nigerians of the duration of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to France.

Ibe also called on the Presidency to explain to Nigerians the nature of Tinubu’s engagement in France.

A statement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said the president would leave the country’s capital Abuja and travel to France.

Ngelale said the President would return to Nigeria after his brief working visit to France.

However, the statement did not say anything about the reason for the president’s trip.

Reacting, Ibe said Nigerians had taken a leaf out of the book of the late President Musa Yar’Adua and that transparency regarding Tinubu’s trip to France was therefore necessary.

In a post on X, Ibe wrote: “Could you please clarify the duration of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to France or is this appointment indefinite?

“Could you also provide insight into the nature of ‘short-time working’ implemented in France, or is this matter kept secret?

“Given that the President of Nigeria serves as a public administrator funded from the country’s resources, it is of utmost importance that Nigerians are kept informed of his travel plans, destinations and schedules.

“I trust that, having learned from the Yar’Adua experience, we will commit to maintaining a higher standard of transparency.”
