Donald Trump has been warned by his MAGA ally Lindsey Graham that he could lose the November presidential election to Kamala Harris if he continues to give in to his “provocateur” instinct and personally attack his Democratic rival instead of making substantive political criticism.
The South Carolina senator was the latest Republican to call on Trump to change his tactics when he confronted Kristen Welker on NBC’s Meet the press on Sunday: “Donald Trump – President Trump can win this election. His policies are good for America, and if there is a political debate for the president, he wins.”
“But Donald Trump, the private citizen, the provocateur, the showman, may not win this election.”
Trump has so far shown little willingness to change. At a rally on Saturday evening in Wilkes-Barr, Pennsylvania, he said he looked “better” than Harris, but again stressed that she had “the laugh of a madwoman.”
His running mate, JD Vance, meanwhile, made a bizarre comparison between the Democrat and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein – a smear that is sure to backfire, as Trump once praised Epstein as a “great guy” and was photographed in his presence.
