Ukrainian special forces show video of fighting in the Kursk region

The special forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrated how they detect and eliminate Russian soldiers in the Kursk region of Russia.

The special forces command has published a corresponding video on its Facebook page, Ukrinform reports.

“Enemy soldiers are trying to hide in industrial areas, armed positions and private homes. Soldiers of a unit of the Ukrainian special forces demonstrate part of their work to detect and destroy enemy forces,” the post says.

“Ambushes, attacks, directing artillery and taking prisoners are part of the daily work of special forces members in enemy territory,” the command said.

Ukraine’s offensive in Russia’s Kursk region began on August 6, 2024.

Ukrainian forces have already taken control of more than 1,000 square kilometers of territory and dozens of settlements in the Kursk region.

On August 15, President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Supreme Commander’s Staff and announced the establishment of a military command in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Kursk region, with Major General Eduard Moskaliov appointed as its head.

According to the British news portal The Independent, Ukrainian forces may have captured around 2,000 Russian soldiers during an operation in the Kursk region.

According to the think tank Institute for War Research (ISW), the deployment of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Kursk region is an example of how the Ukrainians can use mobile warfare to offset Russian advantages in terms of personnel and material.
