VfB Stuttgart finds Loïc Badé too expensive and is looking for new players

Kickers reports that VfB Stuttgart’s search for a central defender continues, as central defender Loïc Badé, with whom the club was recently in talks, is too expensive.

In France it was said that Stuttgart and Sevilla had agreed on a deal and Badé would move to the MHP Arena for 20 million euros. However, these reports are false.

Stuttgart director Fabian Wohlegemuth said of the reports:

“Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about what is being written in Spain. It is known that we want to implement something in defence if the right opportunity arises. We are working on a number of topics and want to implement them by the end of the transfer window.”

Stuttgart is still looking for a replacement for Waldemar Anton, who moved to Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of the transfer window. Jeff Chabot and Anthony Rouault were not convincing at times in the Supercup against Bayer Leverkusen, so VfB needs reinforcements.

However, it is unlikely to be a permanent signing. Stuttgart have already spent almost €50 million on Ermedin Demirovic and Deniz Undav this summer and therefore cannot afford another big defensive player. In addition, Stuttgart still have options in defence once Dan-Axel Zagadou has fully recovered from his ligament injury, as well as for summer signing Ramon Hendriks.
