Report criminal activities on Third Mainland Bridge and others, police tell Lagos residents – The Whistler Newspaper

The Lagos State Police have appealed to commuters to report suspicious activities on the Third Mainland Bridge and other major roads in the state.

The call was made on Sunday in a statement by state police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin.

This followed a report in a newspaper (not THE WHISTLER), which describes the horrific experiences of Lagos residents at nightfall on the Third Mainland Bridge and other strategic roads in the state.

However, Hundeyin responded, saying that police officers in patrol cars and on motorcycles were deployed around the clock at the Third Mainland Bridge and other strategic locations.

He said: “The Lagos State Police has noted with concern allegations published in a newspaper report that police officers are absent or in collusion with criminal elements on the Third Mainland Bridge and other major roads in the state.

“The Command can confirm that police officers in patrol cars and on motorcycles are deployed 24 hours a day at the Third Mainland Bridge and other strategic locations. Commuters are encouraged to take advantage of their static and mobile presence at these locations.

“Commuters are equally encouraged to report any suspicious or criminal activity, particularly emergencies, to the police immediately so that appropriate action can be taken.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, assures residents and visitors to Lagos State that their safety remains the top priority at all times.”
