A stubborn passenger caused a one-hour delay to her flight because she stubbornly refused to stow her Louis Vuitton handbag under her seat.
The unnamed woman was eventually escorted off the plane, which then took off late for its domestic flight within China.
Her fellow passengers reportedly looked on in disbelief as she repeatedly ignored requests to put the designer accessory away in accordance with takeoff regulations.
The airline involved in the riot has not been identified.
A video shared on Douyin shows her arguing with flight attendants, then giving them the silent treatment and playing on her phone.
Eventually, cabin crew had no choice but to forcibly drag her off the plane from Chongqing. Other passengers applaud as she is led down the aisle.
Passengers are generally allowed to carry their luggage on their laps again after take-off.
However, the woman did not give up the $3,000 (£2,300) fashion item and may have to find alternative transport if she ever wants to leave the city.
“The flight attendant didn’t insist on this rule for nothing,” said one commentator.
“The woman should place more importance on her own safety and that of the other passengers than on her bag.”
