At a music festival near Leipzig, two gondolas on a Ferris wheel caught fire on Saturday evening. According to local police, four people suffered burns and one person was injured by a fall. Both rescue workers on site and passengers on the Ferris wheel came into contact with the smoke. A total of 18 people were taken to hospitals for further medical treatment.

The Highfield Festival takes place near Störmthaler Lake in the Großpösna constituency and is one of the largest rock music festivals in the region, with up to 25,000 visitors.
