The update for Helldivers 2 fixes problems connecting to the server and logging into the lobby

Helldivers 2 was a huge success and caused significant server issues over the weekend, but developer Arrowhead Game Studios has already taken care of the problem.

A patch with the memorable update number 1,000,005 is intended to improve the gaming experience.

There were numerous complaints about the stability of Helldivers 2 over the weekend, including problems with matching and login.

“In the latest update for Helldivers 2, we’ve made significant improvements to server capacity and login access to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable experience for all players,” the update’s patch notes say.

The update brings optimizations to “server capacity, login access, progression, and mission reward systems.”

According to SteamDB, Helldivers 2 reached a peak player count of 196,089 players on the PC gaming platform Steam. The game is also available for the PlayStation 5.

John Pilestedt, CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, said Helldivers 2 had already reached one million sales just days after its release on February 8. On February 11 posted on X, formerly Twitter: “Right now we’re at about a million.” He was responding to an X user who was comparing the game’s sales to those of Palworld.

He also explained why players were having login issues with Helldivers 2.

“If for any reason you see the message ‘Connection to server failed’, it means that the maximum number of login requests for that minute has been exceeded and/or that the servers are full and someone needs to log off before new players are allowed.”

Helldivers 2’s launch issues are a classic example of a game being more popular than expected, meaning the servers don’t have enough capacity to support the many people wanting to play the game.

This also means that Helldivers 2 has already made a lot of money. It’s not a free game, it costs £34.99 on the PlayStation Store and Steam.

It costs half as much as some PlayStation 5 games, but has some important monetization elements that allow Helldivers 2 to make more money from big fans.

If you’re only here because you read the headlines about the new game, Helldivers 2 is a co-op shooter full of aliens and sci-fi weapons.

The original Helldivers was a top-down isometric fighting game, but this sequel puts you much closer to the action thanks to a third-person view of the battlefield.
