Sword of Convallaria Edda – Structure and team compositions

Edda is a relatively unique support character in Sword of Convallaria, focusing not on healing her allies but on fueling your attack engine with NRG regeneration, movement and damage buffs, and a “support attack” to finish off enemies.

Although Edda is Sword of Convallaria’s first new character to be added post-launch, she definitely expands the roster in an interesting new direction.

However, like all characters who do not focus exclusively on attacking, Edda can be considered an “advanced” character, as she requires a more nuanced approach when used.

Here are some of the key skills we think you should prioritize when building Edda, as well as the teams we think she fits best into!

Best Build for the Sword of Convallaria Edda

While Edda starts out as a relatively ordinary archer, you can quickly upgrade her skills to make her a unique support character.

First, she’s a natural at using cover to her advantage in combat, which increases her chances of survival and makes maps that would normally be tricky with lots of crates and barrels more accessible. This is thanks to her Shelter Advantage reaction and her Barricade Fight passive, which reduces her damage taken near crates and other objects and then allows her to move again after being attacked near cover.

Therefore, you should place her as close to your other characters as possible, but hidden in cover, so that she can get stuck in the middle of a fight but remain relatively safe.

However, I don’t really like Barricade Fight that much. As for her three abilities, I think it’s better to focus Edda on full support and map control. It uses Wine Barrel Casting like the Fire Sorceress’s grenades in Spiral of Destinies mode – instead, it turns the ground into slippery wine instead of fire.

Combined with Guiding Gleam, which grants huge attack boosts, and Take Arms to refresh your allies’ NRG, she can have a huge impact on the battlefield while relying on her Assisting Attack trait to deal damage to any enemy your other characters can’t take out.

Edda’s ability to influence a variety of battles on the battlefield simultaneously makes her a very strong character within the Sword of Convallaria roster. A high-level compilation of her skills should look like this:

  • Basic attack
  • Shelter Advantage
  • Conductive shine
  • To arms!
  • Wine barrel casting

Edda Team Compositions

Edda is perfect for supporting close combat fighters.

She gives them mobility to cover distances, attack power to hit harder, and magical defense so they can’t be shot down as easily. Combined with her support attack that helps take down enemies when your DPS characters aren’t enough, this makes her a great partner for many different melee characters – even if they don’t need the NRG!

Speaking of NRG: Edda also combines well with other characters who have NRG-intensive skills but lack the ability to quickly restore their energy in order to use it again quickly.

For example, Dantalion and Col both have passive skills or traits that restore their NRG when an enemy is defeated, meaning they can take care of themselves without Edda’s help (though they do love her attack buff).

Characters like Beryl or Gloria can also restore 1 NRG each with their special abilities, but then there are characters like Nungal and Faycal who need a lot of NRG for their best abilities but have no mechanism to restore it themselves, so these are the character types you should pair with Edda.

If you ever use a character’s basic attack when you don’t want to, they can generally benefit from Edda.
