Lead writer of “Star Wars Eclipse” leaves studio due to lack of updates

Information about Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been sparse since it was unveiled a few years ago. Unfortunately, the latest update for Quantic DreamDuring his adventure in a galaxy far, far away, the lead writer of “Star Wars Eclipse” leaves the studio.

Why did the lead writer of Star Wars Eclipse leave Quantic Dream?

Star Wars Eclipse lead writer Adam Williams posted a statement on LinkedIn announcing his departure from Quantic Dream.

“After nearly 10 years at Quantic Dream, I’m leaving the company to start a new studio with a group of very talented designers and developers,” says Williams. “We can’t say too much yet. We’re working on something very innovative, very special and, for now, very secret.”

He ended his statement by thanking Quantic Dream and his team at his as yet unnamed studio.

Williams was also the lead writer for the 2018 science fiction action-adventure game Detroit: Become Human.

Star Wars Eclipse was originally revealed at The Game Awards 2021 along with a trailer. Like previous Quantic Dream games, it will feature a branching narrative between multiple characters and is set during the High Republic era.

The official Star Wars Eclipse website states that the game features “an ensemble cast of several charismatic playable characters, each with their own morals, personality, motivations, and impact on the others and the story as a whole.” The website also states that there will be new characters and environments. As previously reported, one of the main protagonists will be Sarah of the Zaraan, a race that has never appeared in any Star Wars story before.

Quantic Dream is a studio based in France, founded in 1997. The developer has released five games, including Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human. Quantic Dream also publishes games under the Spotlight banner. The most recent game to be released will be Dustborn, which will launch on August 20, 2024.

There is no release date for Star Wars Eclipse. Platforms for the game are also unknown.
