The adorable Katalina skin and other related cosmetics have become available to Fortnite players on mobile, and yet players have discovered an exploit to obtain the Katalina pack without needing a phone.
Now that Epic Games has brought Fortnite back to iPhones in the EU, the developers celebrated the release by giving away the Katalina skin and other sweet cosmetics to players who completed quests via the mobile app.
“ArcticPenguin” on X first discovered this elusive method without ever using a mobile phone. They initially revealed that they obtained the Katalina skin via their Xbox in the US, and later explained how they managed to do so.
How to get the Katalina skin without a phone in Fortnite
Epic GamesIf you, like ArcticPenguin, are keen to get the Katalina skin, you need to follow a few simple steps:
- Find a Creative 1.0 card (not UEFN)
- Enter the map with a friend as a “Private Game”
- One friend must leave the map and rejoin while the other stays
- The Katalina quests should now work for the person who rejoined
Both players should be able to do this for each other, just swap the roles of who goes and who stays the second time around. Once the quests are working for you on PC or console, you should be able to complete the required quests and eventually get the Katalina skin and cosmetics.
Fortnite players had dozens of questions for ArcticPenguin in the replies to the later post explaining how to do it. Someone wondered if you could get banned for doing it, but since it’s a free skin, the original poster doubted it.
They also had to reiterate that you don’t leave the party, just the map, while the other player stays. Make sure they don’t leave the map before asking them to rejoin.
In addition to the free Katalina Skin Pack, the new Chapter 5 Season 4 update also includes cosmetics such as the Doctor Doom skin and the free Sir Beurre Croissant back bling.
