Weekend: Humid with thunderstorms
Next week drier, cooler and less humid

  • Sunny with low humidity on Friday
  • Showers and thunderstorms are expected this weekend, especially on Sunday.
  • Next week a few days cooler and less humid

There is a good chance of showers and thunderstorms both days this weekend, especially on Sunday. Humidity will also be higher this weekend, with afternoon temperatures in the 30s.

There will be no rain all day on either day, and it may not be worth changing your outdoor plans. But think about a backup in case dark clouds gather, because brief, heavy rain is also possible with every shower and thunderstorm that develops. Although the risk of thunderstorms with damaging winds is low this weekend, it is not quite zero.

After another day of scattered showers on Monday, a much drier and less humid period follows. Tuesday through Friday next week will bring highs of 80-86 degrees Fahrenheit, with virtually no chance of rain. The lower humidity means nights will be cooler than in recent weeks, with lows likely to drop to just under 60 degrees Fahrenheit, with some temperatures above 50 degrees Fahrenheit possible on Tuesday and Wednesday nights – particularly in Spotsylvania, Stafford and Caroline counties.
