Katee Sackhoff asked if she was in “The Mandalorian and Grogu”: “If I knew, I wouldn’t tell you”

Katee Sackhoff doesn’t say a word about The Mandalorian and GroguThe actress, who is currently working for DC’s Guardian animated film, in which she lends her voice to Laurie Juspeczyk aka Silk Spectre, was asked if we can expect to see Bo-Katan in theaters alongside Din Djarin in May 2026.

ComicBook.com spoke to Sackhoff, who said:

“First of all, if I knew, I wouldn’t tell you. And if I did tell you, they’d probably kill me.”

It’s an interesting gesture to say she doesn’t know if she’s in the film. It’s unclear when the interview took place, but it’s safe to assume it was recently. Last week at D23, it was revealed that the film has been shooting for a few weeks, so whatever the answer, Sackhoff white whether she is there or not.

It’s more understandable that she doesn’t want to tell us yet. Lucasfilm is surrounding the project with a confusing amount of secrecy. Last week they announced it was in production and showed people at the convention a first teaser that included loads of footage with fully rendered VFX shots. And yet they’re not telling us who’s starring in the film other than Pedro Pascal, who voices Din Djarin. We also know that Zeb is part of the new adventure, and his voice in the trailer sounds a lot like Steve Blum’s.

Sackhoff had posted a picture on Instagram back in January of herself carrying her baby and her Bo Katan costume. While not much context was given, given the time frame, it could have been some sort of test shot during pre-production.

Giancarlo Esposito also said GQ Magazine that Lucasfilm didn’t call him to reprise his role as Moff Gideon either. This makes a little more sense when you consider the fate of his character at the end of The Mandalorian Season 3, although the room for a return still remained open according to fan theories. The actor, who loves the promotional aspect of these jobs, said:

“I love the star Wars Universe. I have no plans because they didn’t call me.”

The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026.

Miguel Fernández is a Spanish student whose second passion is films. His favorite film of all time is The Lord of the Rings, but he’s also a huge Star Wars fan. Fantasy films aren’t his only thing though, as films by Scorsese, Fincher, Kubrick or Hitchcock have been an obsession for him ever since he started understanding the language of filmmaking. He’s the type of guy who will watch a black and white film just because it’s black and white.
