Why Kristin Juszczyk had to turn down Kamala Harris’ fashion request

Vice President Kamala Harris tried to get a design by Kristin Juszczyk, but had no luck.

The 30-year-old fashion designer, who is married to 49ers Pro Bowl fullback Kyle Juszczyk and went viral last season with her NFL-inspired pieces, said she unfortunately had to turn down a request from Harris because she didn’t have help to fulfill it.

“During the Super Bowl (in February), I got a text from my agent and everything went crazy. He was like, ‘Hey, the vice president wants a jacket.’ Me: ‘What company?’ Him: ‘The country,'” Juszczyk said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital.

“Unfortunately, I had no help at the time and no opportunity to do more things. There was just no time. But that’s a funny story that has always stuck with me. I thought, ‘This is going to be crazy. I’ve got a request from the White House.'”

The brunette beauty quickly rose to fame when Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, wore a custom puffer jacket at the Chiefs’ wild-card game against the Dolphins in January.

She also designed a similar Chiefs-inspired puffer jacket for Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany, which she wore at Arrowhead Stadium.

Juszczyk was in Las Vegas at the time Harris’ request came in because her husband was playing in the 2024 Super Bowl, where the Chiefs defeated his 49ers 25-22.

She told the “Today Show” at the time that she had not packed her sewing machine for the trip to Las Vegas.

During her stay, Juszczyk, who is self-taught, presented a number of new designs she had created for the big game.

The brunette beauty wore her own jacket featuring jerseys from her husband’s entire career, from high school to his time in the NFL.

She also designed a Super Bowl 58-themed puffer vest to donate proceeds to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Juszczyk signed a licensing deal with the NFL in January that allowed her to use the league’s logo on men’s and women’s apparel designs.

Her all-star client list also includes 49ers wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk, Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne and actor Taylor Lautner.

On Instagram, Juszczyk stressed on Thursday that she “had no help last year” and therefore “could not fulfill any last-minute wishes!”
