Negotiations on a ceasefire in Gaza began, but without representatives of Hamas

New negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip have begun in Doha, the capital of Qatar, but without representatives of the Palestinian Hamas.

Representatives of the warring party Israel and mediators from the USA, Egypt and Qatar met in Doha.

Although no Hamas representative is present at the meeting itself, Reuters reports that the Qatari partners will provide all information on the progress of the negotiations and present the group’s position during the talks.

We would like to remind you that Hamas refused to participate because it considered that previous agreements had to be implemented before peace talks could continue.

“Hamas is committed to the proposal presented on July 2, based on the UN Security Council resolution and Joe Biden’s speech, and the movement is ready to immediately begin discussing the mechanism for its implementation. The launch of new negotiations will allow Israel to set new conditions and will encourage a labyrinth of negotiations to carry out new massacres,” Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said, expressing the group’s position.

The negotiations are also important because the world media reports that depending on the success of this attempt to reach an agreement, Iran will decide whether to attack Israel. The entire region and much of the world fear a major conflict between two countries that are believed to have nuclear weapons, writes Klix.ba.
