American designers create capsule collection to support Harris Walz, Bally has a new owner

To support the presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz, 16 American designers have come together to create a collection called Designers for Democracy that is designed to appeal to voters. The 2024 collection, with average prices under $50, includes designer pieces from Aurora James, Tory Burch, Prabal Gurung, Thom Browne, Victor Glemaud, Ulla Johnson, Sergio Hudson, Willy Chavarria, Rachel Scott, Bettina Benson, Brett Heyman, Vera Wang and Joseph Altuzurra, among others. Items include James’ “America Is an Idea” T-shirt, Hudson and Jonathan Cohen’s “Vote” sweatshirts and Burch’s “Vote Democracy” T-shirt. {fashion/Paywall}

Bally has a new owner
Global investment firm Regent has acquired luxury footwear and accessories brand Bally from JAB. Regent has also invested in Club Monaco, Escada, La Senza, Sassoon, Redline and DryBar. “Bally is one of the world’s greatest luxury brands,” said Michael Reinstein, founder and chairman of Regent, in a statement. “Its legacy, built on over 170 years of timeless design and unparalleled quality, is a testament to refined Swiss elegance and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. Maybelline is the first cosmetics partner of the TCS New York City Marathon
The TCS New York City Marathon, which takes place on November 3, has tapped Maybelline as its first cosmetics partner. The partnership includes a cheerleading zone along the course, a booth at the marathon’s pre-race expo and Maybelline’s own running team. Team Maybelline was created in collaboration with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and includes Claire Holt, Tayshia Adams, Haley Kalil and celebrity makeup artist Karen Sarahi Gonzalez, as well as the brand’s employees worldwide. {WWD/Paywall}

Vestiaire Collective eliminates seller fees and releases “Emily in Paris” edit
Following Vestiaire Collective’s appearance on Season 4 of Emily in Paris, the luxury fashion resale platform has eliminated all seller fees (a 3% processing fee still applies). First-time listeners will receive $50 for purchases on Vestiaire Collective, and the platform has also created a selection for fans to shop styles inspired by the characters’ styles.
