Quinta Brunson will soon star alongside Stephanie Hsu in a new comedy film for Universal Pictures, which she will also co-write and produce, writes Matt Grobar for Deadline.

While plot details are currently being kept secret, the film will be called “Par For the Course” and will be based on an original idea by Brunson.

She is co-writing the screenplay with Justin Tan, who will also direct his film debut.

The film is produced by Alex McAtee for Point Grey as part of the company’s first-look deal with Universal, with Brunson producing for Fifth Chance.

“I am delighted to be working with Point Grey and Universal on Par for the course“This comedy is very close to my heart and who better to bring it to life than some of the best producers in the business,” said Brunson. “I’ve known Seth, Evan, James and Alex for a while and I’m excited to finally be working on a project together.”

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are co-founders of Point Grey and “are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Quinta,” Rogen said.

Brunson is the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning creator, co-showrunner, head writer, EP and star of ABC’s hit mockumentary Abbott Elementary.
