Registration now open for fall 2024 Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership courses – Inside UW-Green Bay News

Emerging and Advanced Leadership Programs support women in different phases of their careers

Green Bay, Wisconsin – The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership is entering its third year of programming and continues to expand its women-centered leadership programs to meet the region’s future need for a larger pool of female leaders. Beginning in September, the Institute will offer two distinct leadership certificate programs to provide educational and empowerment opportunities that support and connect women at all stages of their careers.

The Advanced Leadership Certificate program is available in person starting September 5. Designed for middle management or leadership positions, it offers women the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills through intensive conversations, interactive sessions and networking opportunities with women from a variety of industries and experiences. Courses are taught by female leaders with a wide range of industry experience, including:

  1. Women in Leadership – Karen Lancelle, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, Schreiber Foods
  2. Leading with an Eye on Inclusion – Charm Der, Vice President of Human Resources, Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin; Founder, Get to Gather
  3. Negotiation and Confidence – Sheri Treu, Director of Organizational Effectiveness, Menasha Corporation
  4. Communication and relationship building – Nicole Smith & Katie Loehlein, Senior Consultant & Trainer, The Utech Group
  5. Leading from behind and managing up – Diedre Martinez, Chief Executive Officer, Sheboygan Chamber of Commerce
  6. Executive Presence – Kristin Bock, certified body language specialist
  7. Strategic Planning for Executives – Laurie Butz, President and CEO, Capital Credit Union

The Emerging Leadership Certificate program will be 100% online starting September 18. Women will maximize their potential by exploring key leadership skills, strategic networking, and the power of influence. Led by experienced professionals, each course includes engaging discussions, interactive activities, and opportunities to reflect and apply learning to real-world scenarios.

  2. Using LinkedIn as an effective relationship-building tool – Jessica Lambrecht, Executive Officer, Division of Continuing Education & Workforce Training, UW-Green Bay
  3. Effective Communication – Nicole Smith & Katie Loehlein, Senior Consultant & Trainer, The Utech Group
  4. Building Purposeful Relationships – Sheri Treu, Director of Organizational Effectiveness, Menasha Corporation
  5. Influence without authority – Kelly Gonzalez, Senior Organizational Learning Leader, Johnsonville

According to a new Pew Research Center survey, most Americans (55%) say there are too few women in top business leadership positions. Boosting women’s leadership is the primary focus of the Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership at UW-Green Bay. The institute also offers a broader executive coaching opportunity for 12 women, also beginning in September, as well as ongoing networking events through “Caffeinated Conversations,” an in-person and virtual discussion forum on important topics, and “Stories from Experience,” inspiring one-on-one talks with respected local women.
