Rapper Travis Scott released without charge after arrest in Paris

Travis Scott has been released from French police custody without charge after being arrested at a Paris hotel following an altercation with a security guard, French prosecutors said.

A statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office said: “The police custody order for Travis Scott has been lifted and all proceedings (against him) have been discontinued as it was a minor incident.”

Scott was arrested early Friday (local time) after police were called to the Georges V hotel to arrest a man “nicknamed Travis Scott for violence against a security guard,” according to a statement from the Paris prosecutor’s office.

The hotel security guard intervened in the argument between the rapper and his bodyguard.

The rapper was in Paris for the Olympic Games. On Friday he saw the USA defeat Serbia in the men’s basketball semifinals.

Scott is one of the biggest stars in hip hop, his birth name is Jacques Webster. He has more than 100 songs that have charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and released four chart-topping singles: Sicko Mode, Highest in the Room, The Scotts and Franchise.

He has two children with his ex-girlfriend, media personality and businesswoman Kylie Jenner.

In June, Scott was arrested in Miami Beach on charges of trespassing and public intoxication. Cops said they caught him shouting obscenities at people on a yacht in the city’s marina and refusing to comply with their orders to leave.
