Could Olympic build on a strong season with young talent?

Lady Phenom Hoops is gearing up for a great season and we are watching teams across the state that have talent to look out for. One very interesting team that many should keep an eye on is Olympic. Coming off a season where they finished 14-11 overall and 4-6 in conference, this was a very young team last year and with another year under their belt, this program could take the next step this upcoming season.

While there are areas this team needs to continue to work on and improve, it is also a team that is intriguing with the young talent that will grow up together. Last year, the Trojans only averaged 38.8 points per game, so there is still room for improvement on offense. But they have players that should take another step in their development.

2027 Chai James would be a name I would look at closely, as she was a dominant force both offensively and on the boards. She finished her freshman season averaging 11.7 points and 12.2 rebounds per game, along with 2.2 blocks. Then there are two other freshmen: 2027 Arianna Shaw and 2027 Jasmyn Ashbourne, two talents who produced early in their high school careers.

These three could be the core group for the team’s success this year, but they will also have experienced players to contribute to a balanced attack. After 14 wins last year, time will tell if this team can take the next step in the upcoming season.
