Today’s Connections Answer – Tips for Solving
Unlike our guide to today’s Wordle answer where we recommend the best Wordle seed words as a strategy, solving Connections relies on identifying categories of connections among 16 words. The difficulty level of each category is represented by a color; yellow is the easiest grouping and purple is the most challenging. Once you make 4 mistakes in your guesses, the answers are revealed, so hints can be helpful.
If you need hints on how to solve the groupings, you can find the topics of the individual groupings here, sorted by difficulty level:
- 🟨 Yellow: Width
- 🟩 Green: Other half
- 🟦 Blue: Beers, famous
- 🟪 Purple: Words after “pay”
These clues should give you at least part of the answer to today’s Connections question. If not, you can read on for bigger clues. If you just want to know the answer, keep scrolling down.
Here is a bigger hint: Maybe you should think about a few bad beers while you add “payment” before a few words, look for your partner and consider the scope of the project.
Today’s Connections Answers
So what are today’s Connections answers for game #430?
Drum roll, please…
- 🟨 Width: scope, reach, range
- 🟩 Other half: complement, partner, buddy
- 🟦 Beers, commonly known: Bud, Natty, Sierra, Stella
- 🟪 Words after “pay”: Check, dirt, buddy, phone
I have to say that I got three strikes here, but I think that despite the much higher difficulty level, many will find it easier than they think.
I don’t know exactly what this says about me, but I found the blue category first and discovered Sierra, Bud and Natty (who I know more as Natty Ice) and then Stella.
I did my strikes here when I was trying to put together the green category. I got stuck on Pal.
If you’re having trouble, sometimes it’s best to stop the category you’re working on and try somewhere else. I did that and quickly found the yellow category.
That was scale, scope, reach and scope.
Next, the purple category fell as I ignored the green words that I knew were correct. The phrase “hit the jackpot” came to mind. From there, it was a breeze to find paycheck, PayPal, and payphone.
Finally I had green with complement, match, mate and partner.
Yesterday’s Connections answers

Sometimes the traps seem more interesting than the answers.
I spent a minute looking for the Disney connection, trying to put Mickey, Daisy, Goof, and maybe Jasmine or Buzz together. Obviously that doesn’t work and I gave up before I got a strike.
Goof gave me a faux pas, a blunder and an ouch for the yellow blunders.
I stuck with Disney and chose daisies, jasmine, petunias and poppies.
Today I walked down the row, which is always satisfying, and I saw pollination, buzzing, and threading as I put the flower group together. The dance was a pleasant reminder that bees communicate using a series of “dances” to indicate where flowers, other bees, and predators are. It’s cool.
I’m not a Yankees fan, but I should have seen the Yankees Legends coming. Stuck on Disney. In the meantime, Go Orioles! They lead the AL East ahead of the Yankees as of this writing (I realize it’s still more of a tie right now).
