Providence Montana has announced plans to open a health center at the former Bed Bath & Beyond Southgate Mall site in Missoula in summer 2025. The Providence Southgate Health Center will house a dedicated emergency department, a primary care clinic and a general cardiology clinic run by the Providence Heart Institute. In addition, radiology and laboratory services will be located on-site.

The new $18 million facility and expanded service offerings will help meet the growing population and community needs in the central Missoula area.

“This project has been in the works since November 2022, when Providence recognized the need to improve access to quality health services due to rapid population growth in Missoula and Ravalli counties and western Montana,” said William J. (Bill) Calhoun, executive director of Providence Montana. “We are not only building a new facility in a convenient location, but we are also expanding a delivery system to better serve our communities.”

Providence Montana selected Davis Partnership Architects and Dick Anderson Construction to design and build the project.

Once completed, the health center will be the first of its kind in Missoula.
