Christine Baranski says there will be a third Mamma Mia! film.

In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, the star of The Gilded Age revealed that she and producer Judy Kramer recently met and the filmmaker revealed that Mamma Mia 3 is in the works. “She explained to me the plot, how it will go,” said the actress.

However, Baranski added, “That’s all I can say! But it’s not like I say, ‘Oh, I wish it could happen!’ Judy Kramer makes things happen. She made number two happen, and it was a phenomenal success. I wouldn’t put it past her to bring everyone back together.”

In fact, the sequel to the 2008 original Abba-soaked musical, 2018’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, grossed more than $480 million worldwide on a $75 million budget.

Bringing the gang back together is no easy task: The cast of several generations also included Meryl Streep, CherAnd Colin Firthas well as Amanda Seyfried, Andy Garcia, Lily James And Pierce Brosnan.

However, Baranski added: “People are attracted to happiness and joy, not gloom and doom. Mamma Mia! has made so many millions of people happy around the world. Is it a bit silly, a bit cheesy? That’s part of its charm.”

Baranski pondered a third part: “I hope we will all be on some fabulous Greek or Croatian island and have a lot of fun there.”
