GDC Ramgarh organizes slogan writing competition and documentary film screening

SAMBA, AUGUST 14: As part of the ongoing Swachhata Pakhwada campaign and to commemorate the horrors of Partition, Government Degree College (GDC) Ramgarh organised a ‘Slogan Writing Competition’ and a ‘Documentary Film Screening’.

The aim of the event was to promote a spirit of cleanliness and patriotism among the students. The programme was organised under the guidance and patronage of the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra.

Speaking on the occasion, she said, “The Swachhata Pakhwada initiative encourages all of us to contribute to a cleaner India, while the documentary reminds us of the sacrifices we made for our independence.”

The event began with a dynamic slogan writing competition. Students from different departments showcased their creativity and commitment on the topics of cleanliness and patriotism. The competition provided a platform for the students to express their thoughts on the importance of a clean environment and the meaning of independence.

Following the competition, the college screened a powerful documentary film that highlighted the harrowing experience of the Partition of India. The documentary provided an in-depth look into one of the most difficult periods in Indian history and highlighted the profound impact of Partition on millions of lives. The event was attended by many faculty members including Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Snobar, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Ashok Kumar, Prof. Brahm Dutt and Dr. Shivali Panjgotra.
