The Clippers open the second annual Emirates NBA Cup on November 15 in Houston and face the Sacramento Kings in their first tournament home game at the Intuit Dome on November 22.
The Clippers’ other group games will be Nov. 29 at Minnesota (televised by ESPN) and Dec. 3 against Portland at the Intuit Dome, the NBA announced Tuesday.
The group games will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays from November 12th to December 3rd. These “Cup Nights” are the only NBA games scheduled to be group games.
All 30 teams were randomly drawn into groups of five within their conference based on their win-loss record from the 2023-24 regular season. Each team will play four scheduled group matches – one game against each opponent in its group, two games at home and two away.
The six group winners and two wildcards – the team from each conference with the best record in group matches that finished second in its group – advance to the quarterfinals.
The quarterfinals will be played on December 10 and 11 at the home court of the higher seed. The Clippers are seeded second in West Group A.
The semifinals will be played on December 14th and the finals on December 17th, all in Las Vegas.
The Clippers finished last in the five-team West Group B in the then NBA In-Season Tournament in 2023 with a record of 1-4.
The rest of the NBA schedule will be released on Thursday.
