Organizations also share the results of the Good Food at Home program, which has been used by more than 1,100 families in Denver; Englewood, New Jersey; Milwaukee; And Washington, DC and announce the expansion to over 1,000 more families in Chicago; New Orleans; And Wichita, Kansas

SAN FRANCISCO And WASHINGTON, 14 August 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Instacart (NASDAQ: CART), the leading food technology company in North AmericaAnd Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to improving the food landscape for health equity, today announced that it has provided families with over five million servings of fruits and vegetables, a key milestone in its ongoing national effort to provide 10 million servings of fruits and vegetables to underserved communities by 2025. The joint commitment by Instacart and PHA was made as part of the 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health.

The organizations also announced results of recent program impacts. Good food at home Cities and an extension that Instacart Health Fresh donations through Good Food at Home to more than 1,000 families in three new cities: Chicago; New Orleans; And Wichita, Kansas.

By the end of 2023, Instacart and PHA started Good food at home in Denver; Englewood, New Jersey; Milwaukee; And Washington, DC The program provided more than 1,100 families with 60$ a month Fresh resources Three months of product credit and an Instacart+ membership with free delivery, allowing participants to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables online.

The results from the four cities underlined the continued success of the programme and its positive impact on the health of the population and showed that the Fresh Funds provided by Good Food at Home underserved communities were strengthened, fruit and vegetable consumption was significantly increased and families were helped to develop lasting healthy habits:

  • 59% of survey participants stated that they ate more fruits and vegetables;
  • 85% said Fresh Funds enabled them to buy more fruit and vegetables than they can normally afford;
  • 87% said Fresh Funds helped them Build a healthy habit eat more fruits and vegetables;
  • And 86% said Fresh Funds enabled them to provide good food for their families and gives them the dignity to choose the items that best suit their individual preferences.

Participants of the program also reported high satisfaction with their experience with Instacart and many plan to continue shopping through Instacart:

  • 88% liked the comfort online shopping;
  • 87% liked the general shopping experience delivered on Instacart;
  • 80% reported that Online grocery shopping through Instacart saved them time;
  • Online orders with SNAP benefits increased significantly (from 73% to 83%) from before to after the program;
  • And more than half said they are likely to continue shopping at Instacart because of the benefits the platform offers.

Due to positive feedback from participants and the impact on food and nutrition security, Instacart and PHA recently expanded the Good Food at Home program to three additional cities across the country and now serves more than 550 families in Chicago; 250 families in New Orleans; and 250 families in Wichita, KansasIn every city, Instacart and PHA offer families 60$/month Fresh Funds for three months to purchase fresh produce from local grocers available on the Instacart marketplace. The program will also expand to additional cities this fall.
