Construction will begin this month on a new plant in Kolkata, which will be part of a joint venture with India’s leading wagon manufacturer, Texmaco Rail.

Nymwag CEO Petr Vlček discussed this project in an interview with Railmarket News.

The new facility is expected to produce up to 2,500 freight wagons per year. The product range includes flat wagons, tank wagons, bulk wagons and open freight wagons.

This is an important step for the company to expand its presence in the global market.

In addition, Nymwag is actively exploring opportunities to set up production facilities in Uzbekistan and Georgia.

In June, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the investment holding AZC Orbis Invest, which includes Nymwag, the Uzbek oil and gas company Saneg and the special industrial zone “Gallaorol”.

However, according to the information available, no comparable steps have been taken in Georgia so far.

Founded in 2019, Nymwag specializes in the production of various types of freight wagons, such as tank wagons, hopper wagons, container flat wagons and railcar bogies.

The company’s main production facility is located in Nymburk. Since its establishment, Nymwag has produced over 3,000 freight wagons.

Last year, the plant produced 1,000 units, generating sales of almost 120 million euros and an operating profit of 6.3 million euros.

The company has already reserved about 50-55% of its production capacity for next year.

Nymwag is pursuing ambitious plans to expand its geographical presence, strengthen its position in international markets and increase its production capacity to meet the growing demand for its products.
