Wildly Rooted Counseling hosts an open house for the community

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – Wildly Rooted Counseling in Harrisonburg is hosting an open house for local community members and professionals.

Kate Bowman, owner and director of Wildly Rooted Counseling, says the open house is an opportunity for local people, including professionals, to meet the center’s doctors and determine if they are a good fit for them or make a recommendation.

“We want the community to understand that every person needs a therapist that’s right for them,” Bowman said. “What’s a good fit for you may not necessarily be a good fit for me,” she added.

Bowman also said the services offered by Wildly Rooted Counseling meet the needs of the community by hiring interns to conduct sessions with clients who are uninsured.

“We have a large portion of the population in this community that struggles with not having insurance,” Bowman said. “Because we have an intern, we can offer very low fees and potentially flexible rates,” Bowman said.

The recently expanded counseling center offers online and in-person sessions with a wide range of services, including cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, and art and play therapy.

The open house will be held on August 15th from 1-4 p.m. at Wildly Rooted Counseling, 338 Neff Ave, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
