Google offers two years of free data with Pixel Watch 3 LTE

The new Pixel Watch 3 from Google offers LTE buyers a nice extra: When you buy any model, you get two years of free LTE data.

Through the Google Store, Pixel Watch 3 buyers can get two years of LTE data for their smartwatch for free. This is included in the $100 price increase of the LTE model itself.

Google is offering this service via Google Fi Wireless on the 41mm and 45mm models of the Pixel Watch 3. Voice calls aren’t supported with it, but you can sync Google Messages from your other device even if you’re not a Google Fi subscriber. This doesn’t appear to be a pre-order offer directly, as Google says it’s valid “during release” in the store. On previous models, Google has offered this offer temporarily, but this is the first time it’s been available at launch.

Google explains:

When you purchase a Pixel Watch 3 (4G LTE), we’ll give you 2 years of free data for your smartwatch. Google Fi Wireless data for messaging, navigation, and music on the go. One Google Fi Wireless data offer per purchase of a Pixel Watch 3 41mm with 4G LTE or Pixel Watch 3 45mm with 4G LTE. SMS at no extra cost, but an active mobile plan is required.

Offer is valid only in the US and only for the person who first sets up the device. If it is sold to someone else, the offer ends. It also expires if you sign up for a different carrier and only valid in the Google Store.

In addition, the data volume is limited to 1 GB per month (only 500 MB at full speed, the rest is limited to 256 kbit/s).

The Pixel Watch 3 is now available for pre-order, with LTE models starting at $449.
