Former Raptors Big Shares Amazing Video of Walking Lions

Precious Achiuwa seems to be a lion whisperer.

The former Toronto Raptors star player shared a video of himself walking two lions on Instagram on Monday night. It appears as if he is holding the two lions by their tails as they calmly walk in front of him.

The video was posted with the caption, “Real killers, but we’re trying to make your nervous system feel safe.”

Achiuwa’s former Raptors teammate Christian Koloko commented on the video, saying, “Nah, you’re crazy, bro.” Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley also posted in the comments section.

The 24-year-old spent parts of three seasons in Toronto before being traded to the New York Knicks in a five-player deal that saw the Raptors acquire Quickley and RJ Barrett for OG Anunoby, Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn. Toronto originally acquired Achiuwa in 2021 as part of the consideration for Kyle Lowry in a sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat.

Achiuwa emerged as a key backup for the Knicks, who struggled with injuries in their frontcourt rotation during the second half of the season and into the playoffs. He played 48 games for the Knicks, starting 18 of them, and averaged 7.6 points and 7.2 rebounds in New York.

After spending an extended period as a free agent this summer, Achiuwa re-signed with the Knicks, penning a one-year, $6 million deal that will likely see him as a backup to Mitchell Robinson and Julius Randle next season.

Achiuwa was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, where he grew up until his family moved to New York when he was eight years old.
